In this Charitar Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraaj talks about a story of Raja called Charitar (Chittar) Singh.

This Raja lived in an area called ਚਿੱਤ੍ਰਵਤੀ. ਨਗਰੀ means city. This raja was very beautiful and was very wealthy. Guru Sahib Ji says:

This Raja had of possessions, ਗਜ means elephants, and ਅਨੇਕ means carriages. He had a lot of Sanpati in his houses.

However, Guru Sahib Ji goes onto creatively write:

One day, a ਅਪਸਰਾ (devi/demigod) saw this King and fell for him, wanting to marry him.

When the ਅਪਸਰਾ saw the ਰਾਜਾ, she got happy (ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਗੀ).

Upon seeing the beautiful form of the ਰਾਜਾ, she sent a letter to him.

When reading this we think how is this communication happening? Is this mythology? No, most of the stories from ਚਰਿਤ੍ਰੋਪਾਖਿਆਨ are current events. They could be current as in a lady fell for the king, and representing them as the ਅਪਸਰਾ as a way to communicate to the reader. However, it could be very physical (ie: talking about something not from this planet).
